Either it’s the truth or it’s a lie.
Is truth relative and are there gray areas?
No gray areas. Truth is absolute.
Gray areas represent contradictions – contradictions of and within the mind. Just because the truth cannot be seen does not mean that it’s not there. The same goes for the lie.
Darkness will continue to grow thicker when we refuse to realize the false teachings, doctrines and/or misunderstandings that we have so easily accepted. Rejecting the truth leads us into spiritual turmoil. Our search for something that will give us a clue as to where we are spiritually (“feeling around in the dark” for some bearing on where we are) is an indicator that all is not well with our spiritual understanding – our spiritual pillars have cracks in them or either they are false premises we hold dear, which if left in place, causes us to accept a much greater lie: Truth is relevant; there are gray areas. And… what a lie it is!
Once this premise is accepted then all hell will break loose or… we will just silently endure life without any joy and no hope of eternal life. This can be changed – it doesn’t have to be that which we settle for. This leads me to refer to a scripture that was brought to my attention recently:
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. Revelation 2:5
Notice that is says, “…do the first works…” It doesn’t say do the first works over! This point was brought to my attention also. It’s something to think about, which I did and am. This brings up a question or two in my mind concerning this point: If we have fallen, where have we fallen from? (“Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen…) and how can we have light taken away from us if we never had this light? (…and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.)
Rrepentance is definetly the place to begin in our search for true understanding.
Can we get a discussion going here?
